Questions Raised Over Okpebholo’s 2008 WAEC Registration

I am wondering whether it was permissible for Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, reportedly aged 36 in 2008, to register for the May/June WASSCE as a school candidate. The May/June examination is generally associated with SS3 students, while the November/December WASSCE is commonly used by private candidates and adults resitting their O’Level subjects. If the viral 2008 result is authentic, should the school that registered him be asked to clarify the circumstances? Could this raise questions about compliance with WAEC registration rules and possible examination malpractice?

What do the applicable WAEC registration rules say about adults sitting the May/June WASSCE as school candidates?

Could you clarify whether you mean the rules in force at the time or the current WAEC guidelines?

Age alone may not settle the issue; the actual registration requirements and records would matter more.

It would help to compare the relevant WAEC guidelines with any publicly available registration documentation before drawing conclusions.
