Ogun Police Rescue Chinese Worker, Arrest Two Over ₦50m Kidnap Plot
The Ogun State Police Command intercepted a plot to abduct a Chinese national and demand a ₦50 million ransom. Operatives from Obalende Division arrested two suspects after credible intelligence tipped them off. The suspects, a 41-year-old company interpreter and a 37-year-old accomplice, were nabbed on June 9 along the Ijebu-Ode/Odogbolu Expressway. Preliminary investigations show they conspired with a third person now on the run. Authorities have transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further probe. The Commissioner of Police praised the swift response and urged residents to remain vigilant and share credible information.
