Security Boost in Edo Drives Monthly IGR to ₦10bn, Commissioner Urges Investors
The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy credits improved security architecture with driving stronger business activity and higher revenue in the state. He says Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration has restored public confidence, lifting internally generated revenue to an average of ₦9.5–10 billion per month. Investors are encouraged to tap into the state’s vast agricultural potential, including rice, cassava, palm produce and maize farming, where private operators already operate alongside government initiatives. A recent agreement with a Chinese firm will see a cement plant with a 10 million metric tonne capacity break ground next month, creating jobs and helping address youth unemployment and insecurity.
