Police operatives in Anambra have recovered two locally fabricated pistols, three caps linked to the Vikings Confraternity and an unregistered motorcycle after two suspects fled during a patrol in Awka North. The operatives reportedly spotted the men on a black Sanyang motorcycle near Isuaniocha Bridge on August 13. Police said the riders made a sudden turn on seeing the patrol team, prompting a chase. The suspects reportedly fell from the motorcycle and ran into a nearby bush, leaving behind a bag, slippers and the motorcycle. A search of the bag led to the recovery of the firearms and caps. Police said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspects, while the command has pledged to sustain patrols and intelligence-led operations across the state.
