Do Not Stop at Small Victories: Deal With the Root Cause

Daily devotional for 11 August 2026. Judges 1:5–6 shows that Judah did not stop after defeating thousands of enemy soldiers. Adoni-Bezek, their commander, was still in Bezek. Judah pursued him until he was captured. Small victories matter, but they may not address the root of a struggle. A person can overcome several symptoms while the habit, mindset or relationship driving them remains untouched. Do not stop at visible progress. Seek out the deeper issue and deal with it decisively. Prayer: Father, thank You for every victory so far. Give me discernment to identify the root of my struggles and strength to overcome it fully, in Jesus' name.
