Why Schooling in Nigeria Feels Like a Scam
I believe schooling in Nigeria has become more of a facade than a force for real change. Many people think education is just about speaking good English and getting high grades for a well-paid job. But it should also shape our behavior and teach us how to apply knowledge in society. Decades after independence, we still struggle to build a proper society. Some graduates destroy public property, inflate project costs, litter public spaces, and ignore basic sanitation. If school truly worked, we would see a clear difference between educated individuals and those without formal schooling. Unfortunately, they all too often behave the same way.
