Police Say Davido Was Targeted in Osun Governor’s Convoy Shooting

Osun Police say singer Davido was the intended target of a confrontation that led to gunfire during Governor Ademola Adeleke’s visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo’s palace. The governor had visited the palace after receiving his certificate of return from INEC. Davido, who is the governor’s nephew, accompanied him during the visit. Police said a suspected gang member allegedly tried to reach Davido but was stopped by his security team. The confrontation reportedly drew other suspected gang members, who blocked the palace entrance and disrupted the governor’s convoy. A 60-year-old man was later shot in the Itaolokan area of Osogbo and was pronounced dead at a teaching hospital. Police say they have launched an investigation and are seeking the fleeing suspects.
