1 / 4

The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Lagos State Command, has continued its Advanced Basic and Intelligence Training at the Police College, Ikeja. The second-day sessions combined seminars and parade drills focused on intelligence gathering, operational ethics, information management, physical fitness and teamwork. The training is intended to improve officers’ readiness for community-level security challenges. Lagos State Commandant Opeyemi Tajudeen Saka said continuous training is essential for professionalism and effective community policing. He appealed for stronger federal support, including better logistics, welfare and equipment, to help the group work more effectively with the police, NSCDC, DSS and other security agencies. Participants said the exercise would strengthen their ability to identify and respond to threats in their communities. The programme will continue with further practical and classroom sessions.
