Delta: Vigilante Leaders Arraigned Over Viral Torture Video
The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspects after a video showed them torturing a man in Emevor Community, Isoko North LGA. The suspects include two local vigilante operatives and the community chairman. They have been arraigned on charges of conspiracy to commit felony, assault occasioning harm, and threatening life under the Criminal Code Law of Delta State. Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi ordered a swift investigation following the viral footage and a petition from human rights activists. The police warned that no group has the right to take the law into their own hands and urged vigilante outfits to hand over suspects for lawful prosecution.
