Kebbi High Court Judge Faruku Bunza Regains Freedom After One Week in Captivity

Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza of the Kebbi State High Court has regained his freedom after spending one week in captivity. He was released on Monday and returned safely to his home, according to the Kebbi State Police Command and members of his family. Police said the abductors demanded ransom, but no payment was made. Justice Bunza was abducted by armed men from his residence in Bunza Local Government Area on July 26. Security agencies say investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible, while the police have urged residents to share useful information confidentially. His family expressed gratitude to the judiciary, security agencies and residents who offered support and prayers during the ordeal. The circumstances surrounding his release have not been disclosed.
