COOUTH Honours Nonye Soludo, Opens Healthy Living and Implant Shops
The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka, has named Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo its Grand Matron of Pregnant Women and Children. The honour was presented during an event that also marked her birthday. More than 500 pregnant women attended the programme. They received maternal-care packages, ₦20,000 each and Healthy Living Pap. Free HPV, breast cancer and prostate cancer screenings were also conducted. The hospital opened a Healthy Living Shop to provide nutrition guidance and an Implant Shop for orthopaedic and neurological surgeries. The facility said the implant service will reduce delays previously caused by sourcing surgical implants from outside the region. Mrs Soludo urged expectant mothers to prioritise nutritious meals, exclusive breastfeeding and preventive healthcare. COOUTH also appealed for support to build a paediatric complex following its accreditation in the specialty.
