One Arrested, Two Sought Over Alleged Witchcraft-Related Killing of Woman in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for two others over the alleged killing of 30-year-old Habse Ubale in Garin Malam Village, Gamawa LGA. Police said the suspects allegedly entered the home of Audu Sabo in the early hours of July 28 and attacked his wife, Habse, after accusing her of witchcraft. Two children, aged 12 and 14, were also reportedly assaulted during the incident. The victims were taken to General Hospital, Gamawa, where Habse was confirmed dead. One victim remains on admission, while the others have been treated and discharged. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department. Police said efforts are ongoing to arrest the two fleeing suspects and warned against violence driven by superstition.
