Wike: Rivers’ Rainbow Coalition to Unite on One 2027 Governorship Candidate

Nyesom Wike says the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers will jointly select one candidate for the 2027 governorship race. He spoke at a luncheon in Port Harcourt for PDP, APC, Labour Party and Action Alliance hopefuls. The minister warned aspirants against premature victory celebrations and urged continued grassroots mobilisation until the coalition meets formally. He also accused some activists and commentators of profiting from the state’s political tensions. Wike stressed that the alliance must focus on unity and development. He dismissed fringe parties as lacking the structure for serious elections, noting only PDP, APC and Labour Party can run polls statewide and nationally.
