I found a TikTok user claiming to be a travel agent for Mexico World Cup visas. He asked for ₦800,000 upfront to handle my ticket and hotel reservation, so I sent the money. A few days before my embassy appointment in Abuja, I learned the agent had sent me land documents and fake bank statements instead of visa papers. He insisted this was normal, but I was turned away at the embassy gate. I’ve never met him in person, and I’m still out the money.
