APPMEN Inaugurates Patrons Council to Support Private Media in Nigeria
The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria (APPMEN) has inaugurated its Council of Patrons, National Advisory Council and The Nigeria We Want Ambassadors in Abuja. Former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke was named chairman of the Council of Patrons and National Patron. The Odyong Nyankpa II, Joel Sabo Aninge, was appointed Grand Patron, while the Emir of Katagum, Baba Umar Faruq II, became a National Patron. APPMEN said the new bodies will provide strategic guidance, policy support and stronger engagement with government, development partners and global platforms. The association said it aims to promote professionalism, press freedom, digital economy advocacy and sustainable growth for private media owners and content creators.
