George Ilenikhena Opts for Super Eagles After Talks with Coach Chelle

Al-Ittihad forward George Ilenikhena has pledged his international future to Nigeria following discussions with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle. The 19-year-old, who was born in Lagos and raised in France, confirmed his decision after nearly a year of interest from Nigeria’s technical team. Ilenikhena, who never featured in an official French youth or senior match, can now join the Super Eagles without a FIFA nationality switch. His club journey spans Royal Antwerp, AS Monaco and a recent move to Saudi champions Al-Ittihad. Chelle’s plan for the talented striker reportedly convinced him to commit to Nigeria ahead of France.

Committing at 19 after talks with Coach Chelle seems fast, I wonder if he's thought through potential setbacks in Nigeria's squad.
