Kwara Central Senator Saliu Mustapha Resigns From APC Ahead of 2027
Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid growing political tensions in Kwara State. In a resignation letter dated August 14 and addressed to the APC chairman of Gambari Ward 1 in Ilorin East LGA, Mustapha said his decision followed weeks of consultations with stakeholders, supporters and constituents. The senator said his political platform must align with his principles and the aspirations of the people he represents. He thanked President Bola Tinubu and the APC leadership, while assuring constituents that his commitment to serving Kwara Central remains unchanged. His exit adds to signs of political realignment in Kwara ahead of the 2027 elections. Mustapha has been linked with the G15/TOP group of aggrieved APC stakeholders in the state.
