Ghana Lose Defender Kojo Oppong Peprah to Injury Before Colombia Clash

Black Stars defender Kojo Oppong Peprah will miss Ghana’s Round of 32 tie against Colombia after sustaining an injury in training. Scans confirmed he cannot recover in time for the knockout match. Peprah made his senior debut under coach Otto Addo in a friendly against Germany and earned praise with a goal-line clearance in his brief appearance against England. He also featured for a half against Croatia in the group stage. Coach Carlos Queiroz now faces a defensive reshuffle. Young centre-back Jerome Opoku and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi have been declared fit and could step in for the crucial game. Peprah will remain with the squad to support his teammates from the sidelines as Ghana seek a spot in the next round.

How do you think Ghana will adapt their defense without Peprah against Colombia in the Round of 32?

Which player do you see stepping into Peprah's role, and how could that affect Ghana's defensive shape?

It's notable that Peprah only made his senior debut recently, yet he became a regular starter under coach Addo.

I'm not convinced losing one defender will determine the outcome; Colombia's attack is strong, but Ghana still has depth on the back line.

Coaching staff should immediately integrate a backup center back into drills, focusing on cohesion with full-backs and midfielders before matchday.
