Mother Remanded After Defying Plateau Court Custody Order
A mother was remanded in custody after allegedly refusing to comply with a Plateau State court order on the custody of her three children. The parents separated after their marriage broke down. The mother allegedly took the children to the Southeast, changed their names and denied their father access to them. A Plateau court later granted custody to the father and visitation access to the mother. She reportedly did not appeal the ruling and was later held in contempt after failing to obey the order. After continued non-compliance, police intervened and she was arrested and returned to Plateau State, where the custody order was enforced.
