Carragher Hails Arsenal Defence After Landmark Anfield Win
Jamie Carragher has praised Arsenal’s defensive display after the Gunners beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield, ending a 14-year wait for an away win there. The former Liverpool defender said Mikel Arteta’s side have the best defence in England and possibly Europe. He noted that Arsenal produced the result without William Saliba, whom he described as one of the world’s best defenders. Carragher also compared Arsenal’s current backline with the famous defensive units that helped the club win league titles in 1989 and 1991. The clean sheet kept Arsenal top of the Premier League table.
