NAFDAC Arrests Two in Lagos Over Alleged Repackaging of Expired Drinks

NAFDAC has arrested two suspects at a facility in Zamfara Plaza, BBA Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, over the alleged revalidation and resale of expired drinks. The agency said the suspects allegedly used chemicals to erase expiry dates from drinks obtained from bars and clubs. NAFDAC said bartenders were approached to supply the expired products. Bottles bearing brands such as Martell, Hennessy, Don Julio and Glenfiddich were reportedly found alongside chemicals and packaging materials. The agency said the suspected operation posed potential health risks to unsuspecting consumers.
