Ycee Reveals 2020 Mental Health Diagnosis and Its Toll on His Creativity

Rapper Ycee says he was diagnosed with a mental health disorder in 2020. After treatments and multiple hospital stays, he struggled to regain his creative spark and can no longer freestyle as he used to. This isn’t unique to him. Actress Chacha Eke-Faani has shared how manic episodes once led her to wreck property and later face hospitalization and medication. Afropop singer Solidstar has also opened up about overdosing on drugs and battling addiction. He admits those struggles nearly took his life and forced him out of the spotlight.
