Do Some Nigerian Feminists Practice What They Preach About Relationships?
I sometimes see a gap between what some Nigerian feminists say online about decentering men and what they appear to want in their private relationships. Their public posts may promote independence, while their personal choices still centre on relationships, marriage or male approval. I also question the contradiction when someone criticises infidelity publicly but gets involved with a married person, or says marriage is unimportant while privately seeking it. These are my observations, not claims about all feminists. My advice is to be honest about what you want. There is no need to condemn something publicly just to fit in if you privately desire it.
