American Woman Says Benin Visit Highlighted Nigeria’s Infrastructure Gaps

A Black American woman who says she has lived in Nigeria for three years has compared her experience in Nigeria with a recent visit to Benin Republic. In a video shared online, she praised Benin Republic’s clean streets, organised environment, road network and use of traffic cameras to monitor speeding. She said the level of infrastructure and accessibility she observed appeared to extend beyond major cities. The visitor said the comparison left her frustrated because she believes Nigeria has the capacity to provide similar systems and a stronger sense of dignity for residents.
