Warning: Alleged Connection-Fee Scam Targeting Nigerians in the Diaspora
I am sharing this warning to help Nigerians in the diaspora avoid an alleged connection-fee scam involving accounts using the names Naira Red and Priscilla House of Sexual Services. The accounts reportedly advertise hookups, sugar relationships and other adult connections in Nigeria and abroad. They allegedly ask users for their location, promise several available matches, and demand a connection fee of about £100 before sharing a contact. According to this report, victims are sent photos and a supposed match after payment. The match may chat briefly, then stop responding, while the original account allegedly blocks complaints or asks for further payments. The accounts are also accused of using purported success stories to appear credible. Do not send money to unverified online matchmakers. Keep screenshots and payment records, report suspicious accounts to the platform and your bank, and notify relevant law-enforcement or fraud-reporting channels.
