Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles lost 5-4 on penalties to Ghana after a thrilling 4-4 draw following extra time in the first leg of their 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kaduna. Isa Hamza Manga scored a hat-trick for Nigeria, while Ekene Obi added another goal in extra time. Ghana fought back through a Mawuli Sosu brace and Wise Nyamadi’s late equaliser to force the shootout. Ghana converted all five penalties to take an advantage into the return leg in Keta next Sunday. Nigeria must now produce a strong away performance to reach the 2026 finals in Senegal.
