Odegbami Calls for Lasting Reform of Nigerian Football After NFF Board Resignations
Former Super Eagles captain Segun Odegbami says Nigeria needs a sound administrative and player-development structure to achieve sustained football success. Speaking on a television programme, Odegbami said replacing football administrators alone would not solve the deeper problems in the system. He argued that qualified technocrats with a genuine passion for football should lead the sport instead of political appointees. Reacting to the resignation of NFF president Ibrahim Gusau and several board members, Odegbami described it as a chance to reform the administration. He said Nigeria needs a seamless talent pipeline that can consistently produce competitive national teams.
