Nigerian-American Ugo Ugochukwu Wins 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship
Nigerian-American driver Ugo Ugochukwu has won the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship after finishing second in the season-ending Feature Race in Madrid, Spain. The 19-year-old Campos Racing driver secured the title after a close battle with Britain’s Freddie Slater. Finland’s Tuukka Taponen won the final race, while Slater finished eighth. Ugochukwu won races in Melbourne and Silverstone during the season. The New York-born driver, who previously joined McLaren’s driver development programme, becomes the first driver representing the United States to win the FIA Formula 3 title and could now progress towards Formula 2 and Formula 1.
