Electrical Surge Suspected as Fire Destroys ₦50m Property in Osogbo
A fire outbreak at Spring Valley Estate in the Oranmiyan area of Osogbo, Osun State, destroyed property estimated at ₦50 million on Sunday evening. The Federal Fire Service, Osun Command, said preliminary findings point to an electrical surge as the suspected cause. Firefighters received the emergency call at about 5:38 p.m. The blaze affected the kitchen and basement of a five-bedroom residential duplex. It was brought under control with support from the Osun State Fire Service, with no casualties recorded. Officials said property valued at about ₦200 million was saved.
