Husband on the Run After Wife Dies in Accidental Gun Discharge in Kebbi
The Kebbi State Police have launched a manhunt for a man whose wife was killed by an accidental firearm discharge in Bagudo Local Government Area. According to police sources, the 25-year-old woman was asked on June 9 to bring a loaded locally made Dane gun from their home. As she carried the weapon, it went off, fatally injuring her in the stomach and hand. She was taken to Bagudo General Hospital but later died during treatment. Authorities say the husband, Auwalu Hassan, fled the scene and efforts are ongoing to arrest him. Investigators are working to establish if negligence played a role. The police also remind the public to store firearms securely to prevent avoidable accidents.
