Glasgow 2026: Idi Amin’s Grandson Disqualified for Headbutt in Boxing Quarter-Final

Ugandan boxer Aziz Abdul, grandson of former dictator Idi Amin, has criticised his disqualification from the super-heavyweight quarter-final at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. Known as Ringo, Abdul was stopped in the third round against England’s Damar Thomas after officials ruled that he headbutted his opponent. He had already received two foul warnings and point deductions before the disqualification. The decision ended Abdul’s medal hopes, while Australia’s Lekeisha Pergoliti progressed after a separate contentious victory.
