Kano Adds Two Private CNG Stations as Gas-Powered Transport Expands
Kano has commissioned two new privately owned CNG refuelling and vehicle-conversion facilities, located on Zaria Road and in Mariri along Wudil Road. The additions raise the number of CNG refuelling stations in the state to 12, from none about a year ago. The expansion follows the activation of the Northern Corridor and is expected to improve access to cheaper fuel alternatives for motorists. The Presidential Initiative on CNG and Electric Vehicles said increased domestic use of Nigeria’s gas resources could reduce transport costs while creating investment, jobs and technical-skills opportunities. Motorists received free CNG refuelling during the launch.
