Iran Says Three Military Pilots Killed in Recent US Strikes
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency says three military pilots were killed in recent US attacks. The dead were identified as navy personnel Mojtaba Bagheri and Hamed Okati, and air force officer Hossein Mahdavian. Iranian authorities said at least 18 people were killed and 142 injured in strikes between August 30 and September 2. Reported casualties included personnel in Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Kermanshah and Lavan Island. The latest escalation reportedly began with a US strike on Larak Island on August 30. Iran subsequently launched missiles and drones at US military facilities in the region, including locations in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
