Plateau Information Commissioner Confirms Arrest of Suspects Who Threatened Post-Ramadan Attacks in Jos
Joyce Ramnap, Plateau State Commissioner for Information, announced that the government has arrested individuals who threatened on social media to attack Jos after Ramadan. This statement followed the Palm Sunday attack on March 29 in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North LGA, where at least 20 people were killed and many others injured. Ramnap emphasized that no government would ignore advance warnings of violence. She said the arrested suspects will face police investigation and judicial prosecution. She also noted that the police Deputy Inspector-General recently visited Plateau, and the governor is monitoring the investigation and prosecution closely to ensure more arrests and a lasting solution.
