NTF Launches Team-Based Championship Format to Prepare Taekwondo Athletes
The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation has introduced a team-based competition format through the maiden MOB National Taekwondo Club and Team Championship in Lagos. The event featured team kyorugi tag-match sparring and team poomsae for senior and junior athletes. Teams from states, clubs, universities and other institutions took part at the National Stadium, Surulere. The federation said the format is designed to improve athletes’ stamina, timing, consistency and competitiveness ahead of events such as the African Games and Olympic Games. The next edition has been scheduled for July 29, 2027.
