Rangers Ask CAF to Move MC Alger Return Leg Behind Closed Doors Over Fan Misconduct
Enugu Rangers have petitioned the Confederation of African Football over alleged misconduct by MC Alger supporters during and after their Champions League qualifier in Abeokuta. Rangers won the first leg 2-0, with Kenneth Igboke and James Emo scoring late goals. The club alleged that visiting supporters forced their way through a stadium gate, bypassed ticket checks and vandalised seats after the match. Rangers want CAF to order Friday's return leg in Algiers to be played behind closed doors. The club also asked for strong security guarantees and crowd-control measures for its players and officials ahead of the decisive match.
