Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu Urge CSOs to Prioritise “Nigeria First” for Sustainable Development
President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have challenged civil society and community-based organisations to embrace patriotism, accountability and stronger partnerships with government to advance Nigeria’s sustainable development. At the National Summit of CSOs and CBOs in Lagos, they stressed that the “Nigeria First and Sustainable Development” theme calls for policies that safeguard national interest and promote climate-resilient, inclusive growth. The President’s representative highlighted key sectors—agriculture, the blue economy and renewable energy—where CSOs can collaborate with government to drive economic growth and improve livelihoods. Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Lagos State’s model of open budgets and town hall consultations. He urged civil society leaders to keep their advocacy factual, constructive and patriotic.
