Escort Breaks into Client’s Apartment, Steals Laptops—Security Guard Foils Escape

At around 1:30 am on Tuesday, June 2, a 21-year-old commercial sex worker allegedly climbed through an open bathroom window at Warwick Flats in Harare’s Avenues area and stole two laptops valued at about US$1,550. A vigilant security guard grew suspicious when he saw her carrying several items after arriving empty-handed. He questioned her, recovered the stolen property, and alerted the police. The keys she used to unlock the main door were also found in her possession. Investigators say she had visited the tenant in Room 408 on multiple occasions and knew the flat’s layout well. She even attempted to seduce the guard to facilitate her escape, but he refused and ensured her arrest. Police inquiries are ongoing.
