Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested 19 people during a raid in Tongoron community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The operation followed an ambush on a joint security patrol along the Ganawuri–Sabon Gida axis on August 4. A police inspector and an Air Force corporal were killed, while the attackers reportedly took away their weapons. Military authorities said the 19 suspects, comprising 14 natives and five Fulani residents, are being profiled to determine whether they have links to the ambush or other criminal activity. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to identify the attackers, recover the stolen weapons and prevent further breaches in the area.
