Ikorodu Man Arrested After Daughter Alleges Years of Sexual Abuse

A 19-year-old woman in Ikorodu, Lagos, has accused her 43-year-old father of sexually abusing her repeatedly since 2019, when she was 12. She said she disclosed the alleged abuse after years of threats and silence. Although she wants the abuse to end and plans to live with relatives, she said she fears that her father’s imprisonment could further damage the family. The man was reportedly apprehended by members of the Oodua People’s Congress and handed over to the police. The case was later transferred to the Gender Unit for investigation.
