US Lobbying Executive Files $57m Suit Against Tinubu, Nigerian Government
US lobbying executive Karl Von Batten has filed a $57 million lawsuit in a federal court in Washington, DC, against President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian government, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode and public affairs firm DCI Group. Von Batten alleges defamation and a conspiracy to kidnap and physically harm him. Court records reportedly show that summonses have been issued to the defendants. The claim seeks $36 million from Tinubu and the Nigerian government, $3 million from Fani-Kayode, and $18 million from DCI Group. Fani-Kayode has denied the allegations, which have not been proven in court. Von Batten has worked for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and has advocated in the US for the release of FBI and DEA records connected to past allegations involving Tinubu.
