Russia unleashed one of its largest aerial attacks on Ukraine in months, firing almost 1,000 drones in 24 hours, according to Ukrainian military officials. Over 550 drones targeted multiple sites during a rare daytime raid. President Zelensky reported at least 40 people injured, including five children. In Ivano-Frankivsk, a National Guard soldier and his 15-year-old daughter were killed at a maternity ward. Additional casualties included a 59-year-old man in Vinnytsia and 22 injured in Lviv. Ukraine’s air force confirmed 15 direct hits and intercepted 541 drones. The strikes damaged homes, a maternity hospital and parts of a UNESCO heritage site. In Russia’s Kursk region, officials say a Ukrainian drone attack killed one person and injured 13.
