Ogun Man Remanded Over Alleged Assault on Police Officers

A 33-year-old man, Temitope Ganiyu, has been remanded at a correctional centre after his arraignment before the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State. Ganiyu pleaded not guilty to three charges of assault, malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. Prosecutors alleged that he assaulted ASP Badejo Taofeek at the Ota Divisional Police Headquarters by dragging him on the floor and tearing his uniform. He was also accused of assaulting another officer, Florence Adedapo, and damaging a Samsung A07 phone valued at ₦210,000. The court adjourned the case until August 10 for further hearing.
