From Classrooms to Solar Lights: Hon. Lanre Edun’s Impact in Abeokuta South
Hon. Lanre Edun served Abeokuta South from 2019 to 2023 with a focus on tangible results. He believes true leadership shines through concrete achievements. In education, he built ten modern classrooms across Nawarudeen Secondary, Rev. Kuti Memorial, Baptist Girls College, Federal Staff School and two primary schools. These safe learning spaces open doors to new opportunities for hundreds of students. On the infrastructure front, Edun delivered 21 transformers and 2,500 solar streetlights. Streets once cloaked in darkness now buzz with evening commerce and safer neighbourhood walks. His empowerment drive equipped youth and tradespeople with 60 motorcycles, 40 hair dryers, 40 sewing machines, 40 catering kits and 40 fishery tools. He also provided capital support to 21 market associations. Ordinary residents now thrive as entrepreneurs and artisans.
