My Perspective on Stereotypes About Kaduna Girls in Abuja
I do not think the stereotypes about Kaduna girls, especially those living in Abuja, are fair or accurate. It is not right to judge everyone based on the behaviour of a few people. From my observation, Kaduna women in Abuja come from different backgrounds. Some are career-focused professionals, including doctors, lawyers, nurses and civil servants. Others are business owners, such as fashion designers, hairdressers and beauty or jewellery vendors, who are more visible online because of their work. There is also a group that is very active on social media and nightlife circles. In my view, the actions and online behaviour of some people in this group often fuel negative stereotypes about Kaduna girls. However, their choices should not be used to define every woman from Kaduna. Rather than making sweeping conclusions, I believe we should judge people by their individual character, goals and conduct.
