Doctor Explains Why Some Injections Must Be Given in the Buttocks

Canada-based Nigerian doctor Zo has responded to a content creator’s account of receiving an injection from a male nurse. He said some injections must be administered in specific areas of the body, depending on the medication and medical procedure. He added that this does not automatically suggest an inappropriate motive. Zo also said fears of being misunderstood have made him avoid breast examinations, Pap smears and other aspects of women’s healthcare for more than seven years. He urged patients to recognise the professional challenges healthcare workers face while still expecting proper consent and respectful care.
