Anambra Begins Annual Accreditation of Public and Private Health Facilities

The Anambra State Government says public and private health facilities are undergoing annual accreditation to improve patient safety and confidence in healthcare services. The Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, said accredited facilities will display posters carrying registration details and a barcode that patients can scan to confirm their status. Residents were advised to use accredited facilities, ask health workers about their diagnosis and treatment, and report unsatisfactory care to the Health Facility Accreditation and Monitoring Unit at the Ministry of Health. The ministry said complaints will receive feedback within 48 hours.
