Carragher Questions Kavanagh’s Decision to Send Off Gravenberch Against Man City

Jamie Carragher has criticised referee Chris Kavanagh over Ryan Gravenberch’s dismissal during Liverpool’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City. Gravenberch was shown a second yellow card in the 62nd minute after a foul on Jérémy Doku. Carragher argued that the earlier booking, issued after a challenge on Elliot Anderson, was too soft and set up the sending-off. According to Carragher, the referee appeared to react to Anderson’s injury rather than judge whether the challenge itself deserved a yellow card. Liverpool’s red card left them with 10 men as City went on to score through Erling Haaland, Doku and Rayan Cherki.
