“E o duro je onje omo”: Ayo Olaiya’s Emotional Tribute to His Late Mother 26 Years On

“E o duro je onje omo”: Ayo Olaiya’s Emotional Tribute to His Late Mother 26 Years On

Nollywood star Ayo Olaiya marked 26 years since his mother’s passing with a moving post. He shared how he still misses her love, care, advice and prayers. He thanked God for giving him the chance to support her from his humble earnings at the bakery. Olaiya wrote, “So painful that you did not wait to eat the fruits of your labour. If I had a million lives to live, I would still choose you as my mother.” He closed his note with prayers for her to rest in perfect peace. Several colleagues also remembered their parents. Actress Rachael Okonkwo recalled her mother’s sacrifices and grief. Veteran Peju Ogunmola, Biodun Okeowo and IK Ogbonna similarly shared heartfelt memories on their mothers’ anniversaries. Others honoured lost parents too: Nosa Rex paid tribute to his late father, Funke Akindele celebrated her mum’s teachings, and Biola Bayo opened up about carrying life’s challenges as an orphan and single mom.

We could honour lost loved ones by volunteering at community centres or supporting bereavement programmes in their memory.
