Adamawa Police Arrest Three Over Alleged Killing of Tea Seller in Jimeta
Adamawa State Police Command says it has arrested three suspects over the alleged killing of Muhammad Auwal Idris, a tea seller in the Banga area of Nassarawo Borehole, Jimeta. Police said Idris was allegedly attacked after he became involved in an argument over a cigarette reportedly taken from a shop without payment. The suspects allegedly trailed him to his workplace the next day and beat him until he became unconscious. He was taken to hospital, where a doctor confirmed his death. The suspects allegedly fled to Taraba State but were tracked down and arrested after an intelligence-led investigation. The police said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
